  FAQ

Flash Feeder2 is the first battery power system designed especially for use with studio type flash equipment. It is available in both 115 and 230 volt versions.

Flash Feeder2 works with all makes of flash equipment, supplies over 6000 Ws of flash power and is capable of running up to four compact studio flash units simultaneously. It can also power flash generators up to a total of 6000 watts.

When fully charged Flash Feeder2 will provide over 450 full power flashes from a typical 500 Ws compact unit.  Click here for actual test results. Recycle time between flashes can be as fast as 3 seconds for 1500 Ws of flash power.

Connect a Flash Feeder2 pack to a vehicle cigarette lighter connector and the number of flashes then available is only limited by the capacity of the vehicle system.  Flash Feeder2 can work with any external 12 or 24 DC volt supply and even includes protection so that an external  vehicle battery is never completely discharged. The Flash Feeder2 pack can also be charged from a mains outlet.

The battery pack can supply power for any type of mains powered equipment including computers, power tools etc. It can be used to run hot lights up to a capacity of 800 watts.

Flash Feeder2 is particularly efficient when used with high efficiency halogen type lamps (Dedo), fluorescent type lamps (KinoFlo, Photon-Beard, Balcar etc) or our AIM Light system.

* Number of flashes result is without using the 'additional energy' procedure
** Tested with an earlier model.  With the current model 2000 the recycle time should be faster
*** Fast charge mode used.  On slow charge the number of flashes should be higher
All the tests were carried out at full power with modeling lamps switched off.
The test procedure includes an 'additional energy' procedure which typically extends the number of flashes available by 30%.  This involves two wait cycles of 30 minutes each after the battery pack has been fully discharged.
