Digital Services Information Page
Use this information page to answer questions you may have about the new remote help service. This page will also help you run basic checks to see if your computer system can receive remote assistance sessions from us. The information in this page is for users running Microsoft Windows operating systems. Mac and Linux operating systems will also be supported in the near future.
Background information | All new computer
systems are now supplied as standard with help software installed, so that we can
remotely access your system using an Internet connection. We guarantee
both the hardware and the original software configuration for 1 year, and
use the remote help software to solve any problems.
Contact us here for details about installing remote help on your existing system. |
|
Services available | As well as an emergency service, we
offer regular maintenance
contracts, with the necessary work being carried out remotely. This is far
more cost effective than sending an engineer to service your
system.
Shortly we will also be offering on-line assistance with graphical programs using highly experienced professionals. |

You can follow the steps below to check your help system
Check
your connection software |
Highlighted below is the icon for the help software which is in the system tray at the bottom of your screen. This indicates that the computer is ready to work remotely. If this icon is not showing, restart your computer. If the icon is still not available, contact us for help.

Check
your IP number |
Below is the IP number that your computer is currently using to connect you with the Internet. We need to know this number before we can connect to your system.
Test your connection | By connecting to a special web site, you can check that your remote help system is working correctly. When you click the link below a new window will open. After a short delay a result of the connection test will be shown.
Click here to go to the test page.
If your system is
OK, then you will see something like: Checking you out at IP address "80.126.213.89"... 80.126.213.89 is accepting connections on Display 0 (TCP port 5900). |
||
Check the FAQ section | The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page has answers to various questions which you may have. If your system is not accepting connections, check for possible causes here.
